“Prints” is an exhibition by Eskil Eräsaari and Jenny Eräsaari in Asbestos Art
Space. The term "Prints" refers to graphic art prints, including screen prints,
monotypes, and woodblock prints.
Eskil Eräsaari (b. 1995) is a designer based in Helsinki. The screen prints
featured in the exhibition were created by him in 2024, drawn digitally and hand-printed at Kalasataman Seripaja. The themes are somewhat comic-like. In screen printing, Eskil is particularly interested in learning new techniques and adapting his drawing style to suit the medium. In addition to screen printing, Eskil works with 3D modeling, photography, and drawing.
Jenny Eräsaari (b. 1970) is a visual artist and illustrator based in Toronto,
Canada. The exhibition includes her woodblock prints and monotypes from
recent years. The themes range from abstract to semi-representational. In
creating woodblock prints, Jenny finds inspiration in using plywood and
recycled wooden surfaces (such as old cutting boards) as carving and
printing materials. She currently prints her stuff at Open Studio in Toronto.
Besides printmaking, Jenny paints, draws, and illustrates.
