What would the wings of the butterflies sound like, if you were small enough to hear it?

"Butterflies" (Perhoset) is a video installation combining poetry and solo viola, which is a celebration of values such as sensitivity, beauty, freedom, and sometimes fragility. The work arose from the need to give these values much-needed order in my expression, and to mirror them against the viola and especially the world of classical music it represents.

The first version of the poem used in the work was created over ten years ago. Later, I supplemented the originally short poem with a visual word frame that imaginatively imitates the movement of butterfly wings. This idea also inspired the musical language of the work. The music of the work and some of the video material took shape while I was in residence in Berlin in the summer of 2024.

The video material of the work "Butterflies" is self-portrait-like. I filmed it while I was alone, creating a peaceful space to capture sensitivity in the individual, and looking for beauty in the details around me. Through this, the work attempts to recognize and strengthen the central role of sensitivity in art and life itself.

The duration of the work is approximately six minutes, and it is on display as a continuous installation.
