The exhibition Gatherings: wind & seeds is born from self-induced mysticism, pre-nostalgia, and indulgent play. It’s about finding value in what you have, what you’ve had all along, and what you could have in scraps, shards, tests, trials, bits, and bobs. Ceramics, glass, and textile pieces have been gathered, in acts of love, creative frugality, and stubborn stinginess. The installation space offers a perspective of materials away from the home and the studio. Gatherings is a story about how ideas begin, how they linger, and continue.

Mimi McPartlan is an artist based in Helsinki with a background in ceramics and design. She considers herself a maker whose process is material-based and grounded in concepts of functional experience and ephemeral phenomena. Her artistic activities are currently focused on opportunities to make site-specific installation work.
