Performers:
"Ima Koko Watashi" is a "formula" for improvisation evenings developed by Japanese double bassist Tetsu Saito, which is open to all art forms. The essence of the form is already in its name: Ima, meaning 'now', refers to experiencing the present moment. Koko, meaning 'here', is a space or place - a stage for a journey that connects cities both near and far. Watashi, meaning 'I', is a dynamic balance between the many "selves" that are present in the improvisation.
This way of working continues as started by choreographer Chikako Kaido, which she has developed since 2022, performing in Germany, France, Belgium, Italy and Japan, and now in 2025, she will come to Finland and Estonia, performing together with local artists. Artists Gunda Gottschalk (Violin),
Chikako Kaido (Concept, Dance), Kristin Schuster (Dance)
Antonio Stella (Dance), Heliä Mailiis Viirakivi (Voice, flute).
Kuikka&Kervinen is a concert of freely improvised music by Jaakko Kuikka (saxophone, shakuhachi) and Jukka-Pekka Kervinen (guitar, electronics).
Free entrance, welcome!
