22.5-30.5. Taru Majewski: Picnic Paradox

Taru Majewski: Picnic Paradox

Vernissage: 22.5. 18-21

Opening hours: 23.-30.5.

Sunlight filters through closed eyelids, the buzz of mosquitoes fills the ears. The colors are overly bright – it's summer. A picnic blanket is spread out, the food set in place. Everything feels strangely unreal, like a dream, and there's a vague sense of threat hanging in the air.

In the end, must nature bend to human will – or is the human just a passing visitor, laying down a picnic blanket for a moment in nature's embrace?

This exhibition reflects on the relationship between humans and nature – on similarities and contrasts. In the artworks, picnic food and natural creatures take on human-like features, bringing them closer to human understanding and making them easier to relate to. These metaphors create a connection between the surrounding world and our inner experiences.
