I often come across the attitude that works painted on canvas are more valuable than those made on paper. I am guilty of this myself. Paper is easy to approach, unlike board templates, no time or blood has been used to make them. This frees up work in different ways.
The exhibition features precisely these paperwork that have arisen from the pure joy of painting. Some of the works have approached some subject with an idea, most of them have left a single stroke and, as a result, have set out to move towards their final form.
The idea of perfection feels utopian. As if nothing less was enough. Perfection stands there somewhere alone, excluding everything else. Humanity is basically a constant emotional turmoil, dissatisfaction and chaos, far from harmony.
We should cherish this disharmony, enjoy it, and accept it. To see beauty in it, to be inspired by it, to describe it.
