Opening 26.12. 18-21

Exhibition open 27.-30.12 12-18

Maisema kuolee (The Landscape Dies) looks at the environment at a moment when familiar images of the landscape begin to break apart. In these works, the landscape is divided into fragments: shapes, lines, and cartographic-like markings. Through this, the exhibition suggests new ways of seeing the landscape — not as a fixed view, but as a constantly shifting whole.

As the familiar structure of the landscape fractures, the viewer is invited to witness how a sense of place is rebuilt through different elements. The Landscape Dies does not signal an ending, but a transformation. The exhibition opens a space where layers of mapping, memory, and the physical environment begin to interact — revealing just how delicate and alive the landscape truly is.

Severi Rahikainen is a Helsinki-based designer and visual artist. He graduated from the Lahti Institute of Design in 2018 and from Aalto University in 2024.
