This is a drill through the bedrock: a deep hole, which is slightly askew, 2,6 kilometers deep and with 30 million years old water on the bottom of it.
Deep Heat is Venni Ahlberg’s, Viena Kytöjoki’s and Ida Lehtonen’s first collaborative piece. Deep Heat meditates on the ontology of a bedrock. How not to fall when everything shakes? Is nostalgia a permissible means of survival? Deep Heat has led the group to giant’s kettles, coffee tables and an old mine to look for the form and content of the work, as well as life’s pivotal meanings.
The language of the text and audio parts of Deep Heat is Finnish.
