The city is a living being, with thoughts flowing along its roads and artificial light jingling in its veins. It wraps its limbs around me and murmurs into my ear, whispering that it is the only thing I have. I know it’s not true, but I still want to find out what it’s all about. The city is a mystery, and my task is to follow the thread.
Veera Kotisara (b. 1998) is a visual artist from Helsinki. For her, painting is about presence, the experience of being seen, and discovering meanings and connections even between things that may seem quite trivial.
