under the trees
under the trees
grow the shadows
when the light leaves
‘under the trees we find each other again’
words from a stranger-ly friend
wild strawberries filled my mouth
when I echoed them
so sure, fated in time
the way we all arrive
I want to live in that trust
the inevitable you and I
it can be quite a relief
to step out of the light to see
and there sometimes grow
the sweetest things
under the trees
under the trees
in the shadows
you find me
Aino Rahkonen is an artist based in Helsinki. She paints, writes, and designs. She is the co-founder of cirlce poetry collective and has self-published a book of poetry and prose. This is her first solo exhibition.
