"Ima Koko Watashi" is a format developed by the late Japanese double bass player Tetsu Saito for improvisation evenings open to all artistic disciplines. The essence of the format is embedded in its title: Ima, meaning "now", refers to the experience of the present moment. Koko, meaning "here", signifies a space or place – the stage of a journey connecting cities both near and far. Watashi, meaning "I", represents a dynamic balance between the many selves that emerge through improvisation.

This working method continues through the initiative of choreographer Chikako Kaido, who has been developing it since 2022 with performances in Germany, France, Belgium, Italy, and Japan. Now, in 2025, she brings the project to Finland and Estonia, performing together with local artists.
