Alina Ostrogradskaya
Alina’s Sunday performance is a soft and lulling set that will resonate with the calm of a summer evening. For this set, Alina returns to her childhood—to summer nights spent in a big city. It was a time when it was difficult for her to fall asleep because of the white nights, so she listened to music on an old tape recorder. The music mixed with the sounds of the never-sleeping city heard through the open window, along with the sounds inside the apartment. She liked to actively listen to this mix and softly fall asleep to it. This Sunday evening, Alina invites the audience to close their eyes and share with her this naive and dreamy sonic memory reconstruction.
Alina Ostrogradskaya is a sound artist, sound designer, and electronic music creator who works with noises, spaces, and repetitions. She recently graduated with an MA in sound design from Helsinki’s Theatre Academy.
Minna Koskenlahti
Koskenlahti’s background in Nordic folk music who has an experimental approach to flute and percussion instruments. Koskenlahti is curious about finding the limits and limitlessness of her instruments, as well as about the silence before sound.

The event is part of ä ä n i ä ä n i ä ä ä n i ä ä that is a fluid and multidimensional event situation evolving around the sonic and including discussions, performances, and other kinds of spatial gestures. It strives to create a collective, interactive, creative, and discursive space inside which to approach ways of working in relation to the gallery context, the city space, and sound, both alone and together. The event situation approaches sound especially through the viewpoints of field-recording, radio, performance, and space. ä ä n i ä ä n i ä ä ä n i ä ä is for anybody interested in working with sound and taking part doesn't require any pre-knowledge about working with sound. The event is a continuation to the [of sound] sonic arts exhibition organised at the Oksasenkatu 11 gallery in 2023 and it is organised by Minerva Juolahti, J.Koho, and Sulo Kolehmainen.
