Time passes differently in the autumn forest. As one focuses on the whisper of the wind and the movement of the leaves, it may feel as though one is alone, even separate, only to realize later that one is in the midst of everything.

In their exhibition, Maria Sorjonen and Aleksi Myllyoja explore the experience of being in nature, the questions of what separates the inanimate from the living, and the themes of solitude and community, turning their gaze toward the small, even the invisible. Myllyoja has worked with electronics, wood, and plaster. Sorjonen through carving wood, oil painting, and creating pigments from natural materials.
