Man lives surrounded by objects, in fact in a constant stream of objects, some of which he is attached to for longer as the part flies at a rapid pace through life. A computer is a special kind of object insofar as it is not just an object. It is a window or gate that allows you to move to another, parallel environment. Five hundred years from now, the Antiques Antiques program will evaluate the MacBook Pro as an object that was very central to the people of the 2010s. Not much can be deduced from a dead computer about the world it has opened up to humans.
