The exhibition “Instill” will be created in real time as a performance by Oscar Hagen and Staffan Södergård on Friday 7 June. Oscar Hagen draws a gallery for windows and walls, with Staffan Södergård creating an ambient soundscreen with synthesizers and effects. The performance focuses on immersing oneself, exploring the inner landscape, and creating from the subconscious. No more is planned in advance and the rest of the work takes shape spontaneously. The work is born of a desire to create without over-analysis and without taking distance from the creative process itself. The final result of the performance will be on display in the gallery until 9.6.
Over the past three years, Hagen has developed a spontaneous drawing style that explores the subconscious. Through meditative space, he creates psychedelic images that are in the middle ground between the figurative and the non-figurative. In Hagen’s art, eyes and eye contact play a central role in creating a connection between the artist and the viewer.
