Baars/Kääriäinen/Okuda/Virtaranta consists of four musicians from four different countries. The Ensemble's music flows freely between experimental and contemporary music through improvisation and instant composing. Berlin based musicians Rieko Okuda (piano and viola player) and Antti Virtaranta (double bass) are very active in the European scene of improvised music. Also active in the field of experimental music are Uppsala based vocalist Girilal Baars and Helsinkin based guitarist Jukka Kääriäinen.
